The statistics page shows you useful information about your reference database. This includes the number of references / papers you have entered and the number of unique authors amongst other things. Under the general section you can see various pieces of system information. This includes the install size which will increase as you add references to the database (if you add images to the database this size will grow more rapidly - note that the system will easily deal with an install size of several hundred (maybe even thousand) megabytes so don't worry if it grows rather large).

The update button is used to refresh the display after you have added a reference. The software automatically updates this display at start up so it is not necessary to press the refresh button initially.
