I've taken today off so that we can get some work done on the house. Coming up is a four day long bank holiday weekend so we should be able to get plenty done on the house. I received a call from the electricity suppliers today. Apparently it is a non-standard job so they are going to come out to do a site survey. Apparently the main cable will have to be cut in order to move it (to make it safe) and it can't be cut in the property which means they are going to have to dig up the garden or the road depending on where the cable is. I've had a look at it and I think the cable might be under the lawn, fingers crossed it doesn't run under the path as that would be really difficult to lift. I've done some more work de-wiring the living room – there are cables everywhere. It's really cold today but we have added to our stash of things that keep us warm. We visited the solicitors today to pick up the old deeds for the property and on the way back we stopped at one of Fraggles favourite shops – Dunelm. As well as a couple of pillows (ours went slightly mouldy in storage) we picked up a 2kW fan heater for a tiny £7 and a wheat bag that you microwave. Apparently you are only supposed to microwave it for 90 seconds but I find a couple of minutes provides much better results.
