Simple and delicious, these biscuits are ideal for rainy afternoon cooking sessions, particularly if you want to introduce your children to the joys of cookery. These quantities make approximately 20 biscuits, but be warned, you are likely to wish you had made double the quantity!

Method

  1. Mix together the butter and sugar until they are light and fluffy. Add the flour, oats and chocolate chips and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into 20 portions and roll each into a ball.
  3. Place the balls of mixture on a greased baking tray, and flatten with a fork, ensuring there is at least a 2cm gap between each biscuit.
  4. Place into an oven at 180 degrees C and bake for 10 - 12 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before placing on a cooling rack.
